Midtronics has been producing magnetic proximty sensors for over ten years but these sensors have a long history. These sensors were originally produced by Motorola Automotive Products in 1972 for the first OEM installed sensor tachometers and speedometers as original equipment on Freightliner Trucks. These sensors besides being used by Freightliner have been used on Navistar, Kenworth, Mack, Volvo and Peterbuilt. They have also seen wide use with smaller OEM's and industrial engines. These units are very robust and designed for long service in all industrial engine and vehicle applications.
