Dixie Electric, Ltd. began as a remanufacturer of rotating electrical components in 1969 and has grown to be one of the largest suppliers of new, new replacement and remanufactured alternators, starters and generators in North America. Dixie is headquartered outside of Toronto, Canada in Concord, Ontario. Dixie moved into this new facility in 1999 and it has an area of 185,000 square feet. This facility houses customer service, manufacturing, engineering, warehousing and accounting.



Besides the Concord location, Dixie has a distribution center in Minneapolis in, MN, a remanufacturing facility Lianyungang, Jiangsu, China. and a component factory in Pune, India. 

New rotating electrics are marketed under the DelStar label and includes both alternators and starters. The alternators have a brushless design with outputs ranging from 200 amps to 525 amps and are available in J180, pad and cradle mount configurations. Starters are a PGR design and are available in 12 and 24 volt versions with cranking power from 4.5 to 8.0 KW.

New Replacement alternators and starters are available in a wide range of drop in replacements. Dixie features new replacements for Delco, Denso, Mitsubishi, Bosch and Leece-Neville/Motorola.

Remanufactured alternators, starters and generators are cover a wide range of applications from automotive, on and off highway, marine, transit to industrial equipment. 

Besides marketing under the Dixie brand, Dixie has a number of private label programs for both OEM and distribution companies. These range from product being delivered in bulk quantities to shelf ready product packaged and private labeled.
